On Saturday, more than 1,000 people attended Crystal Cove Alliance’s 18th annual “Deck the Cove” tree-lighting ceremony on the beach at Crystal Cove State Park. The family-friendly celebration, which has grown in size and scope each year, pays homage to Crystal Cove’s rich history with retro holiday décor and a unique spin on a fun family tradition. Highlights included a holiday bazaar filled with local artisan gift opportunities, a tree-lighting ceremony at sunset, strolling carolers, a beachfront appearance by Santa Claus, and hot cocoa, apple cider and homemade cookies (provided by The Beachcomber Café).
