“Spirit Night” at the Newport Harbor High School main gym at 7 p.m. A festival performance by NHHS cheer squad, $6 for adults and $3 for children.

AP Calculus Review at Newport Harbor High School room 144 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meet in Dodge Room 144 for a review of AP Calculus.

7th & 8th Grade Academic Pentathlon Competition at Bolsa Grande High School in Garden Grove from 7:45 a.m. to 2 p.m., the competition is part of an academic club on campus. Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students in public and private schools compete as individuals and as team members in a series of five academic tests: Essay, Literature, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science.

Newport-Mesa Spirit Run at Fashion Island starting at 6 a.m., The annual event is a community fundraiser for all schools in the Newport- Mesa Unified School District and promotes youth fitness.  Visit www.nmspiritrun.org for more information.

Blood Drive, at the Corona del Mar small gym from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Red Cross will be collecting blood donations. Anyone older than 16 and meet the other requirements are welcome to donate blood.
