Sailing Summary

San Diego Junior Commodores Regatta (Jan 14-15, Junior Sabots)

A number of top junior Sabots sailors traveled to SDYC for the Jr. Invitational Regatta/North #3. Many local sailors placed in the top 10 in this popular event, including: Joseph Hou (4^th) and Rhodes Garner (6^th) in a 25 boat A Fleet; Christian Rosene (1^st) Patrick Shannon (2^nd) and Max Mayol (5^th) in B Fleet; Scott Mais (1^st), Erik Hou (2^nd), Betsy Calder (3^rd), Madison Nadelman (4^th) and Trenten Bashaw (5^th) in C1 Fleet; Jeffrey Peterson (1^st) and Chrstopher Le (2^nd) and Joshua Means (5^th) in C1; Caroline Horton, (4^th) and Madison Bashaw (5^th) in C3 Fleet.

SoCal #3 Regatta

Last Saturday, BYC hosted the SoCal #3 regatta for high school sailors. 10 NHYC sailors participated in the 6 race, 25 boat CFJ fleet.  A total of eight different schools sent teams to the event.

The light winds favored Sean Segerblom and Kappy Fuller, placing 1st overall; Harrison Vandervort and Megan Roach in 2^nd; Carter Scott/Claire Dahl finished 3^rd; Camden Daily/Kristina Miller placed 4^th; and Bayley Davidson and Victoria Lewis rounded out the top 5. All these competitors raced for the Newport Harbor High School Sailing Team.
