Imitation firearm. 8 a.m. 1400 block of Monrovia Ave. During an investigation a police officer found an airsoft gun belonging to a Costa Mesa resident. The gun had been altered: Colored black and with the orange tip removed. He was arrested and held on $500 bail.
Monday, Aug. 19
Terrorization. 10:30 a.m. 8000 block of E Coast Hwy. A Newport man working at his place of employment pulled a knife on his fellow employees after they were teasing him. The manager interceded. The man was eventually arrested for threatening a crime with intent to terrorize and held on $50,000 bail.
Sunday, Aug. 18
Assault with a deadly weapon. 3 a.m. 2700 block of Newport Blvd. Someone got into a verbal fight with two other people and proceeded to brandish a knife an attempt to use it on the others. The suspect fled on foot.
Residential burglary. 8:50 p.m. 800 block of Irvine. A Seal Beach woman entered a residence without permission with two other people. The three intruders drank alcohol, again without permission. After all had left, a victim found (s)he was missing a ring and a wallet valued at $5,060 together. The woman was arrested for residential burglary and held on $50,000 bail.
