Burglary. 1 p.m. 1800 block of Sherington Pl. A Newport Beach man took food and drinks from a grocery store without paying. Police located him and arrested him. He was held on $20,000 bail.
Monday, July 8
Possession of tear gas. 2:46 a.m. Oceanfront and 22nd Street. Officers responded to a Tustin man breaking into his own car. Upon further investigation he was found to have a stun gun and pepper spray in his possession, which he was not allowed, due to a felony conviction. He was arrested and held on $20,000 bail.
Sunday, July 7
Boat burglary. 8:52 a.m. 2400 block of Newport Blvd. An unknown suspect stole a surfboard and a stand-up paddle board from a boat. The value of the stolen items is $1,100.
Saturday, July 6
Vehicle burglary. 11:19 a.m. 600 block of Newport Center Dr. An unknown suspect shattered a car window and stole a purse with credit cards, cash, and sunglasses. The items were valued at a total of $4,610.
Residential burglary. 11:11 p.m. 4700 block of Neptune Ave. An unknown suspect entered a residence through an open bedroom window. The suspect stole a tablet computer, loose change, and jewelry, all valued at $4,165.
Thursday, July 4
Assault with a deadly weapon. 10:25 a.m. 21st Street and Oceanfront. An Irvine man was arrested for four outstanding warrants: Assault with a deadly weapon, petty theft, drinking in public, and defrauding a merchant. He was held on $15,000 bail.
