Failure to obey. 12:10 a.m. 20300 Riverside Dr. A police officer attempted to pull over a Newport man for a minor vehicle violation. The driver failed to obey initially. However, he eventually pulled over in a residential area. The man was arrested for failing to obey a police officer and held on $500 bail.
Commercial burglary. 3:55 a.m. 900 block of Avocado Ave. Police responded to an alarm call at a business on the specified block. When officers arrived, they found the front door was smashed and a window was smashed by a granite tabletop. Two display cases were opened. Stolen were watches and cameras worth roughly $15,000, with the damage costing $2,500.
Sunday, April 28
Vehicle theft. 8:30 a.m. 39th Street and Balboa Boulevard. A man and a woman, both Hemet residents, were stopped by police. The officers determined the car the two were driving was one that was reported stolen in Hemet. Both were arrested and held on bail for $20,000. The man had an outstanding warrant for arrest.
