A La Habra man was arrested Sunday after allegedly stealing $200,050 worth of diamond jewelry and watches during a house party on the Peninsula.
Gary Andrew Munoz, 24, was arrested by Newport Beach Police Department (NBPD) detectives and charged with residential burglary.
The owners of the house, in the 500 block of Via Lido Nord, were away on vacation, said NBPD Sgt. Steve Burdette. Their niece threw a party at the home with five to 10 of her friends, he added.
During the party one of her “friends” stole the jewelry and watches, Burdette said.
Bail was set at $50,000.
