Photographs of historical Orange County homes and buildings, from Newport Beach architect Richard Dodd’s book “Architectural Styles of Orange County,” are now on display in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal at John Wayne Airport through Jan. 10, 2011.
“The history of architecture in Orange County is the story of the American Dream, rendered upon a unique landscape,” said Dodd. “It is a story of how styles and methods of building evolved, how movements trickled into our world, and how trend-setters and visionaries here helped set the standard for the world. How our county grew is a story unique to California and to our place in the developing frontier.”
Dodd is a native of Orange County and has been an architect in Newport Beach since 1960. His work has been published in books and magazines including Architectural Digest and Better Homes & Gardens.
