Jerry La Mott, who had headed up McMonigle Group South since 2007, has moved with his team to Surterre Properties, said Surterre president and CEO Gary Legrand.
In addition to his team of three other agents and two support staff, La Mott also brings with him approximately 40 active listings, Legrand said.
The move is the latest blow to the trouble McMonigle Group, whose principal, John McMonigle, is fighting foreclosure on his estate, has agreed to a receivership for the building that houses the Group’s offices, and is being sued for divorce by his wife.
La Mott has more than 30 years experience and upwards of $800 million in career transactions, according to Legrand. Before joining McMonigle Group in 2007, La Mott was consistently a top national performer with Prudential, including being named the No.3 agent in 2005 and the No. 2 agent in 2006 out of 65,000 agents in the nation. He and his team represent luxury real estate in Nelle Gail, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente.
La Mott will work out of Surterre Properties’ new Monarch Beach office slated to open in late June 2011.
