The community came out in force to our first Newport Beach Independent fundraising event, which took place last at The Bungalow Restaurant in Corona del Mar and featured “celebrity bartenders” including staff and writers from the Newport Beach Indy and Newport Beach magazine as well as our parent company, Firebrand Media, Inc..
All tips and 15 percent of the evening’s purchases were raised in support of Choose Nursing, Choose Hoag,” which supports nurse training.
The night was beautiful and the crowd enthusiastic as Publisher Tom Johnson, Indy Editor Roger Bloom, yours truly, along with columnist Jill Fales and real estate Editor Lana Johnson, poured wine and beer and creatively shook martinis throughout the evening.
Celebrity guest, OC Housewife Jeana Keough, mixed and mingled with the likes of council candidate Ed Reno, the Hon. Marian Bergeson, the OC Register’s Frank Mickadeit, Councilmember Leslie Daigle, Firebrand Chairman Allan Simon and wife Stefani, Marie Case, Krisztina and Matt Scheef, Bungalow owner Jim Walker and many more.
