Milan Mathias Dostal, 87, of Irvine, passed away June 27.
Dostal served on the Newport Beach City Council and as mayor of Newport Beach from 1976 to 1978.
He was appointed to act as the U.S. administrative law judge in Los Angeles, Orange, Tucson and Phoenix, before retiring in 2012.
Milan and Dorothy helped to establish Oralingua, a school for the hearing impaired, which his youngest daughter attended. He was also very active in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and was a dedicated father.
Milan is survived by his wife, Kay; children, Rick Dostal, Cindy Long and Pam Burns; stepchildren, Eric and Peter Boss; sister, Margaret Selleseth; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Thursday at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach.
