Easter Seals Southern California Disability Services has named Newport Beach resident Karah Parschauer, vice president, assistant general counsel and chief privacy officer for Irvine-based Allergan, Inc., to its board of directors.
The announcement was made last week by Mark Whitley, president and chief executive officer of ESSC.
“Karah Parschauer is a driven leader, as evidenced by her distinguished legal career, and we are delighted to have her join our board of directors. As Easter Seals continues to grow our program services in Southern California, such as with our Autism Therapy and Veterans Employment services, we look forward to her expertise being a tremendous asset to the organization moving forward,” says Whitley.
“Easter Seals Southern California is an excellent organization. I think their track record of success speaks to that. By joining the board I hope to support the organization to continue to thrive,” Parschauer said.
Parschauer serves as lead counsel for Allergan’s aesthetic division, Allergan Medical, where she assists clients with all their legal needs, including regulatory and compliance issues, human resource matters and contracting.
Parschauer is also responsible for all global anti-bribery and anti-corruption matters, including adherence with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the UK Bribery Act. Parschauer also serves as Chief Privacy Officer and handles all global privacy matters for Allergan.
Prior to joining Allergan, Parschauer was an Associate Attorney at Latham & Watkins LLP in Orange County and Chicago, where she practiced in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, and corporate governance.
Parschauer received her B.A. in Biology, magna cum laude, from Miami University. She received her Juris Doctor from the Harvard Law School and is a member of the State Bars of California and Illinois.
Parschauer resides in Newport Beach with her husband, John, and two (soon to be three) children.
