Cristophe Salon in Newport Beach is making the cut this month with its second annual “Making the Cut” hair styling event.
Created by Scott Fontana, celebrity stylist and owner of Cristophe Salon, “Making the Cut” is the beauty industry’s first and only live hair competition of its kind.
Backed by sponsors that include L’Oréal, Milani Hair and Scott Fontana Collection, the professionally produced event will feature live hair cutting and styling on stage by leading local stylists, and will be judged by a panel of beauty industry elite to award the title of OC’s Top Stylist 2014.
After the judges narrow the entries to five finalists, the “Making the Cut” live hair show competition will take place March 31 at the Observatory in Santa Ana, giving the finalists the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of hundreds of locals and media for the chance to win the title of OC’S Top Stylist 2014, as well as $2,500 cash and other prizes.
Making the Cut is open to the public and will feature red carpet photo shoots, cash bar and food samples, music, live cutting and styling, a live hair and fashion show, a makeover reveal, and a renowned judging panel that includes Scott Fontana, Laurent D. of Prive’ Salon and products, and Leyla Milani of Milani Hair.
“We encourage people in the area to come see the show to watch some of their favorite local stylists compete to earn the honor of OC’s Top Stylist 2014,” said Scott Fontana, creator of Making the Cut. “It truly is the only live hair cutting event of its kind and it’s taking place right here in Orange County for all local residents to enjoy.”
Tickets to the show can be purchased for $10 online at cristophenb.com/events/tickets or $15 at the door.
