Three people were injured in a head-on collision at the San Joaquin Hills Road and Newport Coast Drive on Tuesday.
Newport Beach firefighters responded to the call around 3:30 p.m. and found two vehicles with front-end damage, according to Newport Beach Fire Department spokeswoman Jennifer Schulz.
Firefighters extricated from a vehicle one person with moderate injuries who was transported to Western Medical Trauma Center. The other two people involved in the accident were treated for minor injuries and transported to Hoag Hospital.
The Newport Beach Police Department also responded to the accident, and is continuing to investigate.
