The Adoption Guild of Southern Orange County holds its 54th annual Patroness Tea on Monday, April 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach.

The Patroness Tea includes a Spring Trend Fashion Showcase presented by Neiman Marcus of Fashion Island, a boutique, silent auction, lunch, and raffles for gift certificates to South Coast Plaza, Greenleaf Restaurant, Lululemon, a Louis Vuitton clutch, and more.

Attendees will also get a chance to meet special guest, Roy Emerson, the namesake of the annual Adoption Guild Roy Emerson Tennis Classic, held each year in May.

Emerson is the most prolific grand slam title holder in the history of tennis. He holds 28 Grand Slam titles and was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1982. He remains the only male player to win singles and doubles titles in all four Grand Slam events including 28 Grand Slam titles, 12 singles titles and 16 doubles titles. Roy and his wife Joy currently reside in Newport Beach and Switzerland.

Tickets to the Patroness Tea are $80 each. For details and information, call (714) 343-2234, or visit adoptionguild.org.

The Patroness Tea is a tradition of the Adoption Guild of Southern Orange County, a volunteer-based, non-profit organization comprised of approximately 50 members. For over 50 years, the Tea has provided an opportunity for the Guild to share its passion with the community and the work of Holy Family Services Adoption & Foster Care Agency.

HFS provides resources, counseling & compassionate service to children, birth parents and adoptive parents in Southern California. To date HFS has created 6,100 nurturing families through adoption. In addition to infant and toddler adoption, HFS provides placement services for older children who are victims of neglect and abuse.

With the hope of giving every child an opportunity to have a loving family, each year in the spring, the Guild hosts the Annual Patroness Tea and the Annual Roy Emerson Adoption Guild Tennis Tournament. All proceeds from all events directly benefit Holy Family Services.

Since 1961, Adoption Guild has generated over $4.3 million in funding, which has contributed to more than 6,000 adoptions within the Southern California area.

Founded by Dolores (Mrs. Bob) Hope and George Piness in 1949, Holy Family Services is an accredited, nonprofit, nondenominational organization created to provide an environment in which pregnant teens, women and families facing crisis pregnancies can safely explore all options.
