The Newport Beach chapter of National Charity League, Juniors hosted its 30th annual mother-daughter luncheon and fashion show on March 19 at the Balboa Bay Club & Resort.

This year’s luncheon theme, “Fashion Fling,” proved once again that although fashions may change with the seasons, enthusiastic community support for outstanding organizations like National Charity League, Juniors is never out of style.

More than 400 guests stepped out for an afternoon of philanthropic fun, food

and fashion, raising nearly $80,000 this year in support of three local charities: High Hopes Head Injury Program, Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) and the Harry & Grace Steele Children’s Center at Orange Coast College.

The Balboa Bay Resort’s entrance and ballroom was transformed in keeping with the theme “Fashion Fling” for the festive afternoon that honored the out-going 6th-grade members and their mothers. 

Models from Bloomingdale’s Fashion Island hit the runway to display the latest fashions for the lineup of attentive young girls sitting along the runway.  

The Newport Beach Chapter of National Charity League, Juniors, is composed of women with daughters ranging from kindergarten through 6th grade. The organization’s purpose is to initiate and promote charitable endeavors, and to foster mother-daughter relationships in philanthropic, cultural and social activities.
