The 2019 BNP Paribas Tennis Tournament is underway at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells.
This is the largest event in the Coachella Valley where almost 500,000 tennis fans watch the brightest stars in tennis with a $1.34 million prize to the winners.
More than 100 Newport Beach tennis enthusiasts attended, including this group from Palisades Tennis Club.
On the men’s side, Novak Djokovic #1, Rafael Nadal #2, and Roger Federer #4 all advanced to the third round. On the lady’s side, Naomi Osaka #1, Simon Halep #2 and Venus Williams advanced while Serena Williams retired due to an unspecified illness.
