Benefit: Signature Chefs Auction Raises $265K for March of Dimes

More than a dozen of Orange County’s top chefs participated in the 2014 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction at The Westin South Coast Plaza, which raised $265,000 to benefit education, research and advocacy programs designed to ensure all babies receive a healthy start in life. This year’s lead Chef was Yvon Goetz, Executive Chef & Partner of The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar in Newport Beach.

Goetz corralled a handful of the area’s best chefs to create signature dishes to showcase the county’s diverse culinary landscape. Attendees enjoyed Chef-created culinary creations, artisanal wines, and live and silent auctions.

Participating chefs from Newport Beach included Goetz, Cathy Pavlos (Provenance), Alessandro Pirozzi (Pirozzi’s), Deborah Schneider (SOL Cocina), Brooke Martin (Balboa Bay Resort) and Shelley Register (A Restaurant).

“This year’s Signature Chefs Auction was the most successful to date,” commented Chef Goetz. “This event brings together the region’s top chefs, many of whom are good friends, to create awareness and raise funds for a cause that is so important: healthier moms and babies. As a father of two, I value the March of Dimes’ mission in our community.”

Event guests enjoy bidding on unique silent auction items during the outdoor reception. The evening’s festivities concluded with guests enjoying a seated dessert during the live auction, which will feature exclusive travel and culinary experiences.
