On Oct. 13, South Coast Plaza celebrated the launch of the Angelitos Card in support of Angelitos de Oro, a support auxiliary of Big Brothers Big Sisters of OC by hosting a festive party in Jewel Court.

Guests enjoyed Acai berry martinis, wine and hors d’oeuvres and tasty treats by Quattro Caffé as the Evan Stone Jazz Trio played in the background.  Keith Rhodes, the CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, thanked guests for their ongoing support especially from the women of Angelitos de Oro.

On the day of the opening party, 18 boutiques offered a 20% savings on purchases, which was a day before these saving were available to the general public. The boutiques also donated 10% of the day’s sales to Angelitos de Oro.

The funds raised from the boutique’s donations and from the sale of Angelitos Cards go to support the “High School Bigs” program of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County.  This program creates supportive, one-to-one relations among youth and mentors. The mentors in this program are high school students that are within close proximity to the elementary schools where the program takes place.

The program reaches a group of children in the county who are at high risk of educational, social, emotional and behavioral difficulties but might not have access to traditional programs for the support they need.
