There’s nothing like arriving at The Ritz for the annual Fashionable Women of Chapman’s “Christmas at The Ritz” holiday luncheon.  This year, as a merry quartet of carolers sang and Santa ho-ho-hoed, the red carpet was resplendent with the cheer of the holidays.

A receiving line made up of Fashionable’s President Adrienne Brennan, Event Chair Donna Bianchi, Chapman University President Dr. Jim Doti and wife Lynn, and Grand Patron S. Paul Musco greeted each of the 345 attendees.

The event attracts a virtual who’s-who of Newport Beach and beyond, with a sparkling event committee made up of Donna Bunce, Donna Calvert, Leslie Cancillieri, Barbara Eidson, Kathy Hamilton, Marci Hollander, Sue Hook, Nora Jorgensen Johnson, Carol Lee Anne Manassero, Charlene Prager and Christine Sullivan.

Mingling on the patio during the reception were Sally Segerstrom, Zee Allred and Drago Gligic, Kirsten Prosser, Lula Halfacre, Julia and George Argyros, Bob Bassett and Kristina Dodge to name just a few.

True to tradition, The Ritz owner Ray Jacobi (whose son Jason attends Chapman) continues to support the fundraiser, which was started 24 years ago by the late Hans Prager and his wife Charlene, who is a longtime member of the Fashionables.

The Fashionables have more than 200 members that work to raise funds in support of a $1 million student filmmaker endowment for the university’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts.
