On October 6, friends of Festival of Children Foundation experienced a rare opportunity to come to the Segerstrom Family Ranch for a behind the scenes tour of the farming operation followed by a unique culinary experience.
Guests enjoyed picking vegetables grown on the Segerstrom Ranch that went into dishes prepared tableside by renowned chef Nancy Silverton, co-owner of Pizzeria Mozza in Newport Beach and founder of La Brea Bakery.
Utilizing Segerstrom Ranch as the venue for the donor cultivation dinner was the brainchild of Newport Beach resident Sandy Segerstrom Daniels, managing partner of South Coast Plaza, and founder and executive director of Festival of Children Foundation.
The intimate dinner was enjoyed by 50 of Orange County’s business and community leaders in rustic luxury at a picturesque outdoor setting under pavilion lights adjacent to the 1915 Segerstrom house on the property that is still designated as farmland, complete with antique tractors, and fields of fruits and vegetables.
“Segerstrom Family Ranch and the family’s heritage with those who help support Festival of Children Foundation has made this a memorable and nostalgic night for me,” said Segerstrom Daniels.
