The Summer Marketing Campaign for Dine Newport Beach (DineNB.com) is on its way to achieving its goals, according to a presentation at the Newport Beach Restaurant Association’s Board of Directors meeting last month.

Dine Newport Beach is a strategic marketing initiative cooperatively created and managed by the Newport Beach Restaurant Association and Newport Beach & Company, and is designed to enhance the economic vitality of the Newport Beach culinary community by showcasing and promoting Newport Beach as a dining destination.

The summer campaign objectives are to increase awareness of DineNB.com (the restaurant association’s online dining guide), drive visitors to online dining guides, and increase email subscribers and social media engagement.

Promotions included Dad’s & Grads in June, and National Hot Dog Month and National Ice Cream Month, both in July.

In the presentation, it was noted that the Dine NB blog and newsletter has a new format with easier access to dining guides and featured content.

At the meeting, new board members for the 2015-2016 fiscal year were welcomed, and officers were elected.

Jim Walker, co-owner of the Bungalow Restaurant, was re-elected President of the Restaurant Association. Ronald Schwartz, co-owner of Muldoon’s Irish Pub, was elected Vice-President. Treasurer is Dan Miller, owner of The Village Inn, and Secretary is Alexandria Robinson of Park Avenue Café.

Other board members for 2015-2016 include Antonio Bevaqua, Canaletto Ristorante Veneto; Joe Campbell, Ruby’s Diner – Balboa Pier; Sheri Drewry, Wilma’s Patio; Stephen Joyce, Newport Beach Tennis Club; Mario Marovic, Dory Deli  and Malarky’s Irish Pub; Cindy O’Shea, Back Bay Tavern and Whole Foods Market; and John Robinson, Amelia’s Seafood & Italian Restaurant.

According to its website, the Newport Beach Restaurant Association is a non-partisan, non-profit cooperative marketing association that brands Newport Beach dining and promotes the commercial welfare of restaurants and the foodservice industry in the City of Newport Beach.

Comprised of over 400 restaurants and foodservice operators, NBRA was founded in 1996 and is an official Business Improvement District of the city of Newport Beach. Every foodservice establishment is assessed a levy to be used toward marketing, advertising and public relations for dining in Newport Beach. NBRA also provides resources, benefits and programs to its members to help their bottom line and succeed as business operators.
