Golf lovers, philanthropists and Orange County business leaders took to the links at the Newport Beach Country Club last weekend for the 37th annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County’s Golf Tournament.
The 144 golfers raised more than $250,000 that benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County’s one-to-one youth mentorship programs.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County is grateful to have the continuous support of golf-loving OC business leaders and philanthropists attend our event. Their participation helps give local youth the opportunities for success through our 1:1 mentorship program,” said Melissa Beck, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County. “With the generous funds raised from our 37th annual Golf Tournament, 25 ‘Big and Little’ mentorships have been funded for one year, a priceless experience for our youth that has a long lasting impact, even beyond their individual match.”
Tournament attendees had the chance to test their “pro golfer” skills during the hole-in-one challenge for the opportunity to win a brand new Ferrari or a $1,000 “hole-in-one” shopping spree at the PGA TOUR Superstore.
Silent auction items included Black, Starr and Frost cufflinks; suite to an Angels game along with a signed Howie Kendrick and Jered Weaver ball, plus Josh Hamilton bat; signed Cory Perry and Blake Griffin jerseys; and more.
