Junior Parents Naviance Training at Corona del Mar High School computer lab from 7 to 8 p.m., Junior parents can learn how to use naviance Family Connection for college planning. California High School Exit Exam at Newport Harbor High School at 8 a.m., The test will be administered for all 10th graders and those 11th and 12th who still need to pass the California High School Exit Exam. All 11th and 12th graders and 10th graders with a last name beginning with the letter A through Long will need to report to the Main Gym for testing. All 10th graders with the last name beginning with Lopez through the letter Z will need to report to the Small Gym. Students who need to be tested in Home Arts will be notified before March 8. In addition, all 10th graders who have a 4th period class with either Mr. Sigafoos, Mr. Chalmers or Mr. Torribio will be testing with their respective teacher in his classroom rather than going to one of the two gyms for testing. Peer Court Offered At Corona del Mar High School vocal music room (414) from 3 to 5 p.m., Approximately 50-100 student volunteers are needed to serve as jurors, translators and bailiffs. We will have judges, attorneys, a probation officer, an Orange County Constitutional Rights Foundation staff member and a CdMHS staff member coordinating the court sessions. Students may sign up at the Community Service table located in the middle of the 200 building and will earn 2 hours of community service for participating. The Newport Harbor Educational Foundation Benefit at EuroCar Inc. in Costa Mesa from 6 to 10 p.m., Newport Harbor Educational Foundation (NHEF) promotes academic excellence and enhances educational opportunities for students at Newport Harbor High School. Funds help to provide supplies, classroom technology, college counseling, professional development and educational conferences for faculty and more.
