*When Mike Trout plays left field, and Peter Bourjos plays center, the Angels have the fastest outfield in baseball. Sometime in the future, when the situation calls for a defensive shift to the right, we could move our right fielder closer to the infield and play Trout in left center and Bourjos in right center. Does anyone think these two speedsters could cover the entire outfield by themselves? I do!
* Recently while turning left on to Pacific Coast Highway from Dover Drive I noted that the lady driving the car beside me had two poodles, one on her right, the other on her left. There was a child in a car seat in the back. Did I mention she was talking on her cell-phone? Yet every year the number of auto and train accidents seems to stun us. Those who drive have had plenty of time and warnings to install a hands-free device. Maybe it is time for the state legislature to further increase the fines and punitive measures for simultaneously driving and talking with your cell phone in hand.

“Patience,” she replied, “Just patience.”
