Newport Harbor won the 2011 Finis Memorial Cup with a 8-6 victory over Coronado. Senior Farrel South, the team’s high scorer for the tournament, was named Tournament MVP.
Leading up to the finals, the Sailors had convincing wins over West Clovis (17-1), Menlo Park (17-12) and host team Bellarmine (13-5).Newport Harbor is ranked No.2 in CIF SS with a 22-1 overall record.Next up for the Sailors is a Sunset League match against Marina on Wednesday at 6:05 p.m. at Newport Harbor High School.
