“They (public employees) deserve to be able to retire with a reasonable income when they reach retirement age.” – Perennial public employee Don Webb.
I read this paragraph several times. Then the next day I read it again several more times. Then again several more times that afternoon. Something really has the smell of Bell wrapped in a paragraph of nice compassionate sounding words. But, compassion for who? Compassion for public employees that suck the blood of taxpayers?! How about compassion for taxpayers who are forced to donate blood even, when they themselves, are on life support systems?
How does a person become to believe, like a second religion, that they deserve to be kept in a certain lifestyle, as an entitlement that is owed to them for sucking the blood of taxpayers for over 40 years. Forty years of contributing nothing to the future benefits!?
It is the recipients of Social Security that are my caretakers for life… and I deserve it! I can evict people from their homes; I can take or restrict the use of their property; I can tax and fee some right out of the City…. and those same poor bastards will keep me in the lifestyle to which I have become accustomed to. For I am a public employee and you should be happy to pay for my keep for as long as I shall live. I am a public employee. I am almost like God.
“They (public employees) deserve…” In the real world that really means retire at the most productive times of their lives at 42 – 55 years of age. The public employee gets 35 to 50% more in wages, benefits and retirement than the private sector. The public employee will get an average of 5 to 10 times or more of what the average social security recipient gets in benefits. And, the public employees are the people we have given our vote to, to watch out for the interests of the average citizen. In the words of John Stossel; “Give me a break.”
This is what we are supposed to honor as dedicated public employees. The unfunded pension debt in California is over $500 billion and Nnationwide over $3.2 trillion.
This is why “They (public employees) deserve to be able to retire with a reasonable income when they reach retirement age.” Perennial public employee Don Webb walking off into the Newport Beach sunset taking the public dole with him.
